milk poured into a latte A real Clay site, built from a Google listing

An affluent, polished Bavarian capital where beer-garden tradition, Alpine proximity and serious money support upmarket independents alongside centuries-old Wirtshaus and Weisswurst culture.

Munich blends a traditional Kaffee-und-Kuchen culture, with Milchkaffee and Apfelstrudel in grand cafes, and a newer specialty scene in Glockenbach and Maxvorstadt serving flat whites. Weekend Weisswurst-fruehstueck with a wheat beer before noon is an institution, and cafe terraces spill along the Isar in warm months. Whatever your café is known for, Clay turns your Google listing into a real website, photos, hours, reviews and a map, so people in Munich find you and know what to expect before they visit.

Priced like Munich, judged like Munich

Rents here are the highest in Germany and the customer knows it, which cuts both ways: nobody is surprised by four-fifty for a cappuccino, and nobody forgives it being mediocre. A Munich café is expected to look finished, the room, the crockery, the pastry case, in a way a Neukölln one is not.

The other fixture is the summer. Between the beer gardens and the Isar, an indoor café in July competes with the whole city being outside, and the ones that survive it are the ones people already know by name.

Questions

How long does it really take?

Most people are live in two to three minutes, search your business, pick a style, publish. There is nothing to install and no signup needed to see your site first, because it is built from your Google listing rather than from a blank page.

Is it free?

Yes. You get a live site on your own name.clay.site address with a small badge in the footer, and nothing expires. The paid plan is your own domain, the badge removed and the pro features.

Do I need any tech skills?

None. If you can type your business name, you can build a Clay site: the live page is the editor, so you tap the thing you want to change. There is no code anywhere, and nothing to install or keep updated, see the WordPress comparison for what that saves.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, buy it wherever you like and point it at Clay on a paid plan; the certificate is issued for you. Until then the free name.clay.site address is a real one you can print, and it keeps working afterwards.

Do I put prices on the page at Munich prices?

Yes, and it is the question owners here are most nervous about. A price nobody can find is a doorway conversation you have to have forty times a day, and the customer who will not ask simply goes somewhere that published one. Clay draws the menu as real text with the prices in it, which is also what a search engine can read.

My prices and my Speisekarte change with the season. How much work is that?

One tap per item, from your phone. That is the whole reason the menu is part of the page rather than a PDF: a Munich beer garden changing over for Starkbierzeit should not need somebody to open a design program and re-export a document.

Can I show my menu?

Yes, Clay has a menu widget with sections, prices and photos. A café that generates from Google gets a menu block pre-filled, ready for you to tweak.
