Who we are
Clay.Site ("we", "us") builds and hosts clay.site — a tool that turns a business's Google listing into a live website. By creating, editing, or visiting a site you agree to these terms. Our company details are in the Impressum at the bottom of this page.
What we collect
- Account info you give us (email or phone, name, and a password we store only as a salted hash).
- The content you add to your site (text, images, links, business details) and public data we pull from your Google Business listing to build it.
- Basic technical data (IP, device/browser) needed to serve pages and prevent abuse.
- Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
How we use it
To generate and run your site, process your subscription, keep things secure, and improve the product. We don't sell your personal data. We share data only with the providers that make the service work (e.g. Stripe for payments, our hosting, and the domain registrar when you take a domain).
Your site & content
You own your content. You're responsible for it being lawful and for having the rights to anything you upload. We may remove sites that break the law or these terms.
Keeping sites lawful
You're responsible for your content being lawful and accurate. We may review, decline, suspend, or remove sites that are unlawful, misleading, or don't fit the service. That we host a site doesn't make us responsible for its content.
Plans & payment
- A subscription is €49 per month or €490 per year. Additional sites are €39 per month or €390 per year each. All prices are excluding VAT; VAT is added at checkout where applicable.
- A paid plan includes a free domain (registration cost up to €15/year covered by us). If you choose a domain above that cap, the difference is on you. Domains, once registered, are non-refundable.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can manage or cancel anytime from your account's billing portal.
- Billing is handled by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay. Payments are final except where required by law.
If your subscription lapses
If a payment fails or you cancel, we keep your site running through a grace period of about two weeks and send a few reminders. After that the site downgrades to the free tier: it is served on your *.clay.site subdomain, any custom domain redirects (301) to that subdomain, Pro widgets stop being published, and the "Made with Clay" badge returns. A free domain we registered for you is not renewed and is allowed to expire. Your content stays in your account, and paying again restores the paid features.
Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your data — contact us and we'll help. Deleting your account removes your sites and personal data, subject to records we must keep for legal/accounting reasons.
Changes
We may update these terms; we'll post the new version here. Continued use means you accept the changes.
