Ice cream shops

A website for ice cream shops, live in minutes

Two questions, both about today: are you open, and what is in the cabinet.

Takes less than a minute · no sign-up or credit card required
a scoop of ice cream on a spoon A real Clay site, built from a Google listing

Almost no other business closes for five months and reopens to a queue. The page has to say which of those it is on, and say it in March.

So the season is stated plainly and the flavour list is a band you change on a Monday. Clay builds the site from your Google listing, and the winter hours are the same hours Google has, because a family that walked over on a cold Saturday and found the shutter down is a family that does not come back in June.

Why Clay

a hand holding an ice cream cone

It pulls your info from Google

No blank page. Clay reads your Google business listing and fills in your name, photos, hours, map and reviews automatically.

A real website, not just links

Menus, bookings, a shop, a gallery, contact, Clay is a full site that also works as a link-in-bio, not a list of buttons.

Live in minutes, free to start

Search, pick a style, publish. No signup to see it, no credit card, and a free live address at name.clay.site.

Yours to grow

Bring a custom domain, add pro widgets, run multiple sites. It scales from a bio link to a full business site.

Your photographs, already sorted

Clay reads the pictures on your Google listing, grades them, crops them for the shape each band needs and puts the best one at the top. Nothing to upload, nothing to resize.

The season

Open from, closed from, said in one line

Write the dates. Not "seasonal", not "see you in spring": the day you open and the day you close, so somebody planning a birthday in early April knows now.

Out of season, leave the page up and say so. A shop that vanishes for the winter looks closed for good, and half of that traffic never checks again.

Today

What is in the cabinet this week

A list you change on a Monday morning, with the specials marked. Pistachio being on is a reason to walk fifteen minutes rather than five.

Say what is vegan, what has nuts and what is made without dairy. Every one of those is a family deciding between you and the place with the bigger sign.

What it looks like when it is live

Drawn rather than described, the page, the address, and what it can switch on.

Questions

How long does it really take?

Most people are live in two to three minutes, search your business, pick a style, publish. There is nothing to install and no signup needed to see your site first, because it is built from your Google listing rather than from a blank page.

Is it free?

Yes. You get a live site on your own name.clay.site address with a small badge in the footer, and nothing expires. The paid plan is your own domain, the badge removed and the pro features.

Do I need any tech skills?

None. If you can type your business name, you can build a Clay site: the live page is the editor, so you tap the thing you want to change. There is no code anywhere, and nothing to install or keep updated, see the WordPress comparison for what that saves.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, buy it wherever you like and point it at Clay on a paid plan; the certificate is issued for you. Until then the free name.clay.site address is a real one you can print, and it keeps working afterwards.

Should I take the page down in winter?

No. A shop with no page looks shut for good, and the searches in February are people planning for April.

How often should the flavour list change?

Whenever the cabinet does, which is usually weekly. It is a minute's work from a phone and it is the reason people check the page at all.

Can I sell tubs from the page?

Yes, and it is the one thing that earns in bad weather: what a shop band adds.
