Greengrocers & fruit and veg

A website for greengrocers, live in minutes

Your stock is different every week, and that is the reason to have a page rather than the reason not to.

Takes less than a minute · no sign-up or credit card required
an array of raw vegetables A real Clay site, built from a Google listing

Every other shop on the street sells the same things in December as in June. You do not, and almost nobody tells anybody.

So the page says what is in. Clay builds it from your Google listing, and one line a week about what has just arrived is the whole difference between a page and a listing. Under it, the box: a standing weekly order is the single thing that turns a passing customer into a Tuesday.

Why Clay

a greengrocer's vegetable display

It pulls your info from Google

No blank page. Clay reads your Google business listing and fills in your name, photos, hours, map and reviews automatically.

A real website, not just links

Menus, bookings, a shop, a gallery, contact, Clay is a full site that also works as a link-in-bio, not a list of buttons.

Live in minutes, free to start

Search, pick a style, publish. No signup to see it, no credit card, and a free live address at name.clay.site.

Yours to grow

Bring a custom domain, add pro widgets, run multiple sites. It scales from a bio link to a full business site.

Your photographs, already sorted

Clay reads the pictures on your Google listing, grades them, crops them for the shape each band needs and puts the best one at the top. Nothing to upload, nothing to resize.

This week

One line, written on the shop floor

Blood oranges are in. The last of the asparagus. Local strawberries from Thursday. That is a sentence, it takes a minute, and it is the reason somebody opens the page again next week.

It is also the reason to walk past the supermarket, which is an argument no supermarket can make back.

A standing order is a Tuesday

A weekly fruit and veg box is the closest thing a greengrocer has to a subscription, and it does not need a payment system: the order form takes the size and the day, and you settle it the way you already do.

One customer on a standing order is worth twenty who remember you exist.

What you can switch on

Every one of these is part of your site, not a plugin to install. Turn on what you use and leave the rest off.

What it looks like when it is live

Drawn rather than described, the page, the address, and what it can switch on.

Questions

How long does it really take?

Most people are live in two to three minutes, search your business, pick a style, publish. There is nothing to install and no signup needed to see your site first, because it is built from your Google listing rather than from a blank page.

Is it free?

Yes. You get a live site on your own name.clay.site address with a small badge in the footer, and nothing expires. The paid plan is your own domain, the badge removed and the pro features.

Do I need any tech skills?

None. If you can type your business name, you can build a Clay site: the live page is the editor, so you tap the thing you want to change. There is no code anywhere, and nothing to install or keep updated, see the WordPress comparison for what that saves.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, buy it wherever you like and point it at Clay on a paid plan; the certificate is issued for you. Until then the free name.clay.site address is a real one you can print, and it keeps working afterwards.

Do I have to update it every week?

One line, and it is the whole value of the page. What has just come in takes a minute to type from the shop floor and it is the only reason somebody comes back to a greengrocer's page rather than checking your hours once.

Can I sell the veg box online?

You can take the order online and settle payment the way you already do. That is usually better for a box round than a checkout: what a shop band adds if you want to charge on the site too.

Is a website worth it for a small shop?

It is free on your own address, it puts your hours and your location where Google shows them, and it gives you one line a week that no supermarket can answer. That is more than most high street shops have.
