An events list is the one page that goes wrong by itself. Nothing has to break: a date passes, and a page that was useful on Friday is misleading on Monday.

So the band is dates, and a date that has gone comes off the list. What is left is what is next, in order, with the door time and whether it is ticketed. Somebody who arrives from a poster in a bus shelter finds out in one screen whether there is anything on tonight.

Name, date, door time, and ticketed or free. Four things, one line each, and the next one at the top.

Say when there is nothing on. A page that goes quiet reads as a business that closed; a line saying the next one is in September reads as a business with a season.

The Tuesday quiz is one entry that says every Tuesday, not fifty two entries. A list padded with a repeating event is a list nobody scrolls.

And put the recurring ones first when nothing special is on, because that is still an answer to what is happening tonight.

What happens to an event after the date?

It comes off the list. The page shows what is ahead, which is the only thing anybody is asking it.

How do I handle a weekly night?

One entry saying every Tuesday. Repeating it as separate dates makes a long list nobody reads.

Should I sell tickets on it?

The page says whether an event is ticketed and where; Clay does not take the payment, so the ticket link goes wherever you already sell them.

What if nothing is on for a month?

Say so in a line. Silence reads as closed, and a season stated reads as a plan.

Can people book a table for an event?

Yes, and it belongs beside the listing: how the booking works.

Does it work for a market or a class?

Yes. Anything with a date and a door time is the same shape, whether it is a gig or a Saturday market.

How far ahead should I list?

As far as you are confident. Two months of certain dates beats six months with three that move.
