The budget field is the one people leave blank, so give a range to pick from rather than an empty box. Nobody knows what catering costs until somebody tells them.

With those four you can price it or decline it the same day, and both answers are worth more to the customer than a week of questions.

Why ask the date first?

Because if you are booked, every other field was wasted for both of you, and it costs one tap to find out.

People will not tell me their budget.

They will pick a range from a list. They will not type a number into an empty box, because they have no idea what the right one is.

Should I put prices on the page too?

A per head range, yes. It filters the enquiries before they arrive, which is cheaper than filtering them afterwards.

How fast should I reply?

The same day if you can. They are asking three caterers, and the first straight answer usually takes the job.

What about a tasting?

Do I need photographs as well?
